Hartford Point Apartments
Hartford Point comprises 75 units of one-bed and two-bed apartments in Slough, Berkshire. The project features a communal rooftop terrace, outdoor gym, undercroft parking and cycle storage. Each apartment layout is optimised for open-plan family living, with generously sized full-height glazing and balcony spaces.
WWA undertook the technical design and construction phases of this project after the developer secured the site with existing planning permission. We have written a case study article about this project, and the value that can be added during the technical design phase. You can read the full article and see more photos of this project in our article; A Technical Design Takeover.
Working with Feltham Construction as the client and contractor, WWA set about seeing if the existing plans for the site could be optimised. By tweaking the existing layouts, we put forward a revised design that achieved a further 4 apartments. This change was guided through the planning system by our experienced team of town planners,, who helped with the overall picture of viability for the development.
Architecture Associate, Ewan Green, led the project through the technical design and construction phases. One notable design collaboration that Ewan enjoyed leading was the bullrush-inspired motif of the steel railings to the parking undercroft (pictured below).
