GRACEWELL

The Practice produced the designs for the redevelopment of a run- down industrial site in a conservation area to provide a new 72-bed care home and a refurbished warehouse and office space for a local manufacturing business.

The care home was designed taking cues from the industrial use of the site to give the scheme the aesthetic of a converted industrial building which meant a slight deviation from the care home client’s usual format.  However, steering the design in this direction meant we were able to produce a building that pleased both the care home operator and the planners’ requirements which responded to the historic nature of the site.
