Windrose

Windrose replaces a former lightweight timber-framed bungalow located in the heart of a conservation area in the traditional Oxfordshire village of Longworth.

Our clients aspired to a traditional stone-built house but with a contemporary twist. The design is particularly sensitive to its setting and incorporates low-energy technology to reduce heating costs and electrical consumption.

A ground source heat pump is installed together with rainwater harvesting.  Natural materials are used throughout to ensure low embodied carbon within the structure of the house.
